🪁 KITE SAFARI: A KITE CRUISE IN EGYPT

Embark on a true kitesurfing adventure with our Kite Safari in Egypt — a unique week-long cruise through the Red Sea, visiting some of the best kite spots near Hurghada and beyond. Imagine a floating hotel that brings you straight to the perfect lagoons, ready to kite as soon as the wind picks up.

A kite cruise is the ultimate way to experience Egypt’s kitesurfing potential. No packing and unpacking, no transfers — just pure kiteboarding from sunrise to sunset. Each day, we anchor at a new location, depending on the wind conditions and the level of the group. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced kiter, we tailor the route to maximize your time on the water.

During the week, we often organize one or more downwinders, if the conditions and group skill levels allow it. While we aim to visit several world-class kite spots, each kite safari is different — shaped by nature, the sea, and the vibe of the group.

THE KITE SPOTS

🏝️ GEISUM ISLAND

Located just 3 hours of sailing from Hurghada, Geisum is the heart of our kite safari route. This island offers not just one, but four amazing kite spots:

  • South Geisum

  • Central Geisum

  • Geisum Marina

  • Secret Spot Geisum

All these lagoons provide flat, turquoise water and stable wind—ideal conditions whether you’re progressing your skills or just enjoying a freestyle session. Geisum is a must-stop on every kite cruise.

🏖️ TAWILA ISLAND

One of the most famous kitesurfing spots in Egypt, Tawila features a massive shallow lagoon in the middle of the sea. The open space and steady wind make it perfect for beginners and advanced riders alike. The beach is wide, safe, and gives plenty of room to set up your gear comfortably. Tawila is often the highlight of any Red Sea kite safari.

🌬️ ASHRAFI ISLAND

Ashrafi sits in the northernmost part of our route and is known for its powerful wind. It offers two distinct kite spots:

  • Small Lagoon – with steady side-shore wind

  • Big Lagoon – with stronger, off-shore wind

Thanks to its location, Ashrafi often has the strongest wind of the week. It’s also a popular launch point for exciting downwinders during the cruise. For experienced kiters, this spot is a true playground.

🏝️ ABU MUNGAR

Just a short sail from Hurghada, Abu Mungar is often the first stop of our kite cruise. It’s a spot that works best with strong winds, offering flat water and an easy beach setup. While it may not be the most spectacular of the Red Sea kite spots, it’s a solid backup for day one when the conditions are on our side.

🐠 GUBAL ISLAND

Gubal is a multi-sport paradise. Known primarily for snorkeling and diving, this spot is also great for kite foiling and wing foiling, especially if you launch directly from the boat. With a sheltered bay, crystal-clear water, and a beautiful beach for evening parties, it’s a top choice for a chill day when the wind is light — or when you’re just looking to unwind.

🍻 SURVIVOR ISLAND

A small, hidden gem in the middle of the Red Sea, Survivor Island is one of our favorite downwinder endpoints. After a long, epic session across the water, this is the place to land your kite, grab a cold beer, and celebrate the ride. Remote and scenic, Survivor is the perfect reminder that kite safaris are about more than just kiting — they’re about adventure.

🪁 WHEN TO KITE IN EGYPT

The best months for kitesurfing in Egypt are from April to November. While Egypt is generally windy all year, the winter months (December–March) have less reliable wind, which is why we don’t organize kite cruises in winter.

On average, Egypt enjoys wind on 70% of the days per year. That means that out of 365 days, about 255 are windy — and most of them fall between April and November.

Also keep in mind:
Wind is stronger at sea than on land.
For example, a 12-knot forecast on land can often mean 15 knots at our offshore kite spots.

So if you’re planning a kite cruise in the Red Sea — chances are high you’ll score some epic sessions. 🌬️🌊

🌬️ WIND CONDITIONS AT OUR KITE CRUISE SPOTS

One of the main reasons to join a kite cruise in the Red Sea is simple: stronger and more consistent wind.

In the middle of the Red Sea, the wind is usually 2–3 knots stronger than on land.
So, what might be a marginal day onshore often becomes a perfect day at sea — and a good wind forecast on land? Expect epic conditions out at sea!

💡 Most of our kite spots are beginner-friendly:

  • Shallow waters

  • Warm temperatures

  • Flat and safe conditions

Note: The wind is typically offshore, but don’t worry!
We’ve got two zodiac rescue boats on standby at all times.
✅ If you’re still learning or not yet riding upwind, we’ll be there to pick you up — no stress, just progress.
